about

Mixed and Mastered by Andrew Schaap

This track was done entirely in Hitsville, VA. I think most (maybe all) was recorded on my 4-track. Then, before I dumped it into Pro Tools I started messing with the playback speed and when I sped the whole thing up I just fell in love with the track's energy. So that's why it sounds a little pitched up.

Andrew took the track and mixed it and his mix just destroyed mine. So good.

This song reminds me of driving my truck around in Virginia with Frankie. She loved this song back then and always asked me to play it when we were driving. We'd take Andrew's mix, crank it loud and drive around with the windows down. The fresh air, the mountains, spring/summer....good times.

lyrics

Who are you? I never have known. I feel the stranger in my bones. I'm talking to myself, I know, I gotta let it go.

I spent so much time in your little world. Lost so much mind in your little world. This time I'm mine. This time I'm mine. This time I'm fine. This time I'm mine.

Unwinding the knots of my bones. I'm tired from dreamin' of home. Had fiction but the facts all show I gotta let it go.

I spent so much time in your little world. Lost so much mind in your little world. This time I'm mine. This time I'm mine. This time I'm fine. This time I'm mine.
