about

Recorded entirely as an instrumental in Abingdon, Va. Always had this vocal melody but no words. Woody came by one day last month and I played it for him and he said it reminded him of Cyndi Lauper "Time After Time" - which is pretty damn high praise. So, I tried it again lyrically. I like how you can hear the hollowbody guitar acoustically as well as through the amp. Always liked that vibe. Makes me feel like I'm in the room with whoever is playing when I hear a song like that. I was playing my Harmony Rocket through the mxr phaser thru the vibro champ. I can't dance. Who cares.

lyrics

It only takes a little light to fill up a room
It only takes one look from you to make me realize I'm in the right place
And just when I thought I'd lost my way

I've got the world on a string again
I've got a song in my heart tonight
I'm coming up roses in spring again
I guess you could say I'm a lucky guy

One life, try to live it right
One heart, gonna fill it with light
One love, here to hold me tight

Feel like dancing, though I've two left feet
They hand me the drum, but I can't keep the beat
Still everything's easy and in the right place
When your hand's in mine it always ace after ace

I've got the world on a string again
I've got a song in my heart tonight
I'm coming up roses in spring again
I guess you could say I'm a lucky guy

One life, try to live it right
One heart, gonna fill it with light
One love, here to hold me tight and cast the cares of this world from my shoulders
