Heavy Metal Summer

about

This started out as a jam in Jeff's garage. We had two mics (58 knockoffs) laying around and recorded the drums and gtr into my 4-track cassette deck. No song written - just jamming and we came up with this in 5 minutes. I finished everything else in Virginia. This is one of my personal favorite tracks just because the whole thing started as a mystery and ended up a mystery. And it was fun to work with only the 4-track recording of the drums (with guitar bleed) and see what happened along the way.

lyrics

I'm freeing up my demons. Excuse me from a good time. Two million miles an hour just to find some peace out in the glare. I'm rollin' down to Fremont. The running back fumbles. The killer's lookin' grisly. May everyone care. Yeah everyone cares. Everyone cares.

Heavy metal summer comes screaming through my windows. I'm looking for the speakers shriekin' in the air. They're singing "Everyone cares. Yeah, Everyone cares".

Don't know your ego. I left mine in the freeze though. Let's thaw it out and smash it. It's apocalypse-free. Yeah. You wonder why they need it (an ending) but it's coming. They treat you like a monkey and say, "Everything's fair".

La-la-la-la-la. Sha-la-la-la-la. Sha-na-na-na-na. La-la-la-la-la.

Look the other way now. The zealots this way cometh. I'm icing up my freezer. Cause someone oughta care.
