Golden Greats Vol. 6

by John Ralston

1.
Who are you? I never have known. I feel the stranger in my bones. I'm talking to myself, I know, I gotta let it go. I spent so much time in your little world. Lost so much mind in your little world. This time I'm mine. This time I'm mine. This time I'm fine. This time I'm mine. Unwinding the knots of my bones. I'm tired from dreamin' of home. Had fiction but the facts all show I gotta let it go. I spent so much time in your little world. Lost so much mind in your little world. This time I'm mine. This time I'm mine. This time I'm fine. This time I'm mine.
2.
I'm freeing up my demons. Excuse me from a good time. Two million miles an hour just to find some peace out in the glare. I'm rollin' down to Fremont. The running back fumbles. The killer's lookin' grisly. May everyone care. Yeah everyone cares. Everyone cares. Heavy metal summer comes screaming through my windows. I'm looking for the speakers shriekin' in the air. They're singing "Everyone cares. Yeah, Everyone cares". Don't know your ego. I left mine in the freeze though. Let's thaw it out and smash it. It's apocalypse-free. Yeah. You wonder why they need it (an ending) but it's coming. They treat you like a monkey and say, "Everything's fair". La-la-la-la-la. Sha-la-la-la-la. Sha-na-na-na-na. La-la-la-la-la. Look the other way now. The zealots this way cometh. I'm icing up my freezer. Cause someone oughta care.

about

These two songs were mostly done in Virginia. And they remind me of that time. I can't listen to them without going back to those two houses we lived in. I have been thinking a lot lately about the things that transport us back into time. It can be anything really. But certain things can take you away to another place if you let them. These songs do that for me.
